Medical Disclaimer

Oliv™ is not a medical service. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, stop reading this and call your local emergency number — 911 in the United States, 999 in the United Kingdom, 112 across the European Union — or go to your nearest emergency department.

1. What Oliv is and is not

Oliv™ is a general wellness information service that provides guidance on lifestyle and consumer wellness products (essential oils, supplements, and household products) based on a self-reported assessment and, optionally, an observational face scan.

Oliv is not a medical device (as defined by the FDA, MHRA, or any other regulator), diagnostic tool, screening test, pharmacy, or substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Statements within Oliv have not been evaluated by the FDA, MHRA, EMA, or any regulatory body.

2. Assessments and face scan

Your wellness assessment is based solely on your self-reported answers. We do not verify your responses or health status. The assessment is not a clinical or diagnostic instrument.

The optional face-scan feature provides an observational reading only — not a medical diagnosis or clinical assessment. Lighting, posture, camera quality, and other factors may affect results. If the reading raises a health concern, consult a qualified healthcare professional.

3. Recommendations are not prescriptions

Oliv suggests general wellness products — not medicines. Oliv does not prescribe, dose, or advise on combining products with prescribed medication. You are solely responsible for deciding whether a product is appropriate for you and for following the manufacturer's instructions and safety guidance.

4. Always consult a healthcare professional

Consult a qualified healthcare professional (doctor, nurse, dietitian, pharmacist, or licensed practitioner) before:

  • starting any new wellness regimen, supplement, or essential oil use;
  • using products if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or managing a medical condition;
  • changing or stopping any prescribed medication or therapy; or
  • acting on App content if you have any doubt about its suitability for you.

Never disregard or delay seeking professional medical advice because of something in the Oliv App.

5. Specific cautions

  • Pregnancy and nursing. Many essential oils and supplements are contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Consult your obstetrician, midwife, or clinical aromatherapist before use.
  • Medical conditions. Wellness products may interact with medication or worsen conditions including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, kidney or liver disease, epilepsy, asthma, cancer, and autoimmune or mental health conditions. Consult your treating professional before use.
  • Allergies. Check all ingredient lists. Before using any new topical essential oil, patch-test on your forearm and wait 24 hours. Discontinue and seek advice if you experience irritation, rash, swelling, or breathing difficulty.
  • Children. Oliv is for adults aged 18 and over. Do not use Oliv-suggested products on children or adolescents without advice from a paediatrician or qualified healthcare professional. Many essential oils are unsafe for infants and young children.
  • Pets. Essential oils can be toxic to animals — particularly cats — even through ambient diffusion. Consult a veterinarian about safe use in your home.

6. Essential oils — key safety points

  • Follow the product label; use only as directed (topical, aromatic, or internal where expressly stated by the manufacturer).
  • Dilute before topical application in accordance with manufacturer guidance.
  • Avoid contact with eyes, ears, mucous membranes, or broken skin unless the label specifically indicates safe application.
  • Some citrus oils increase photosensitivity; avoid sun exposure on treated skin for at least 12 hours.
  • Store out of reach of children and pets.
  • Product quality varies between suppliers; we do not warrant any specific product.

7. Supplements — key safety points

  • Supplements are not evaluated by the FDA, MHRA, EMA, or equivalent regulators in the same way as medicines, and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
  • Many supplements interact with prescription medication (e.g., St John's Wort with antidepressants or contraceptives; vitamin K with anticoagulants). Always inform your doctor and pharmacist of every supplement you take.
  • Do not exceed the manufacturer's stated dose.
  • Product quality varies between manufacturers and batches; we do not warrant any specific product.

8. Emergencies

Oliv is not designed for urgent or emergency situations. Do not rely on the App for urgent medical decision-making. In a medical emergency:

United States — call 911
United Kingdom — call 999 (or call 111 for non-emergency NHS advice)
European Union — call 112

9. No healthcare relationship

Use of Oliv does not create a healthcare, physician-patient, or any other professional advisory relationship between you and VisiumGroup, LLC or anyone involved in the App.

10. Limitation of liability

You use Oliv at your own discretion and risk. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, VisiumGroup, LLC and its affiliates accept no liability for any injury, illness, allergic reaction, adverse interaction, financial loss, or other harm arising from your use of or reliance on the App, the wellness assessment, the face-scan reading, or any product referenced in the App.

This disclaimer supplements our Terms of Service. Nothing herein excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. EU and UK statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
